Our Story

Started with games, grew from there.

Mortar Tribe has been around since 2020. We started by making a mobile game and have since branched out into AI tools, browser extensions, and wearable apps.

New platforms
We like building for platforms that are still finding their footing — WearOS, browser extensions, local AI on desktop.
Small and focused
Small team, no bloat. We ship things, see what works, and keep improving.
Privacy matters
We don't collect data we don't need. Several of our apps support bring-your-own-key for full control.

  • BookBee

    AI-powered story book generator

    Generated illustrated children's books using AI. Used custom trained LORAs for character consistency and fixed object descriptions for scene consistency across panels.

    Shelved because: Even with improvements in diffusion models and LLM writing strategies, consistency across story panels was still too unreliable.

  • InstaRizz

    AI selfie editor

    Custom AI image workflow that let you modify selfies with natural language prompts.

    Shelved because: Nano Banana launched a month later and did it well enough.
